IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Halima Nwakaego, the daughter-in-law of Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, during a question and answer session with her followers on Instagram, said motherhood is lonely.
Bashir El-Rufai’s wife who is also a mother of twin boys stated this on Monday, 19 December, 2022.
Responding to a question on why some men skip their duties as husbands, she advised the follower to think of herself as a single mother.
“Always think of yourself as a single mother, that way you expect nothing from anyone and never get disappointed,” she said.
“You do your part and that’s the most important thing. Stop looking at what others aren’t doing for your children. Ask for help instead of assuming people will offer,” she added.
A netizen, Kingslayer, who agreed with her view said: “It’s lonely when you are married to Hausa men. They don’t support theur women to raise children that’s why they can marry and have as many children as they wish.”
Another social media user said: “When u marry a son of a gun, that’s when motherhood becomes lonely.”
“She sounds sad and alone!” wrote another netizen.
@Ijeoma backed Halima up on her comment and said she doesn’t expect anything from her husband.
“She is totally correct….I don’t even ask my hubby for help, cos he will refuse. over time, I don’t ask at all so as not to be disappointed if he refuses.”
