The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, and the United States of America President, Joe Biden, watched the France-Morocco World Cup semi-final match with the Moroccan Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch, and other leaders at the White House on Wednesday.
Biden shared the picture via his Twitter handle on Wednesday saying: “It was a great honour to watch today’s World Cup match alongside Prime Minister Akhannouch of Morocco. No matter who you’re rooting for, it was remarkable to watch how much this team has been able to achieve.”
Morocco’s journey in the World Cup ended on Wednesday as France defeated the African side 2-0 at the Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar.
France qualified for the World Cup final after downing Morocco 2-0, with goals from Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani proving the difference.
The Atlas Lions, as they have all tournament, put in a solid performance. However a spot in Sunday’s final proved too big a task, with Les Bleus showing all their experience to set up a date with Lionel Messi and Argentina.
