ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A 34-year-old man has allegedly hanged himself after battling with alleged persistent accusation of N40,000 theft.
A man identified as Iliya Adamu in Adamawa State, committed suicide after his own brother kept accusing him of stealing his N40,000.
The journey to Adamu’s end began about eight months ago when the brother, whose name could not be obtained as at the time filling the report, first raised the alarm of losing his money and blaming it on Adamu.
The deceased was accused of stealing the money in April, 2022 by his brother.
Adamu hails from Kwanan Waya in Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Before his death, Adamu was a bricklayer working in Girei, in Girei LGA.
It was gathered on Tuesday, 15 November, 2022, that he decided to end his life at the weekend after about seven months of helplessly denying the charge of theft hitting him from his brother, Daily Post reports.
Adamu’s body was found dangling from a tree branch in the bush in Girei, a source said.
The source added that a container of insecticide was found on the ground around the scene.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said police operatives were investigating it.
