IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – A question asked by a Nigerian street photographer and digital content creator, Diji, on Twitter, has prompted tweeps to share their unforgettable experiences.
Diji known as @directordiji on the microblogging platform tweeted, “What’s that incident that happened to you that made you believe There’s God?🤔”
His tweet has garnered reactions from Nigerians who opened up on the ordeal that convinced them that truly God exists.
A tweep, @segstv narrated how his female friend who visited him was robbed of her phones, and money.
The female friend involved her boyfriend and his gang, who threatened him and his roommates to provide the stolen items in 12 hours or be severely dealt with.
According to him, God showed up for them and the items stolen were found within the 12 hours.
In his own words: “A friend (F) visited my house and stepped out when no one was around. We had gone out to get some stuff for our friend. We returned to find out that phones, wallets with money in it were missing. Turns out that a thief had entered the apartment and stolen everything. This was back in Uni. The Female friend had involved her boyfriend and his gang.
“They issued threats and arrests if I and my roommates don’t provide the stolen item in 12 hours. Everyone in the lodge advised us to go and see some Alhaji in Ama-Hausa Owerri. I told my roommates to hold on and they should give me the night to call on God. I had test the following morning, I needed to prepare.
“I went on my knees and cried unto God. I told him
- I and my roommates weren’t thieves.
- We don’t want police arrest and we don’t want to visit native doctor.
- I want God to vindicate I and my roommates before morning.
- That I couldn’t sleep amidst my tests, so shall the thief not know rest.
- I gave him 3 days to return whatever he had stolen or run mad.
“Omoh, I didn’t believe anything I said in those prayer points.
“But I prayed from 12 midnight to 4am. Then read for the test for some minutes, slept and work around 5:30am to await arrest or go for test.
“While I was taking my bath, I heard a voice saying “go and close every window in your apartment”. I hurriedly left the bathroom and closed its window, the kitchen window and as I was about closing the bedrooms window.
“Behold, every phones stolen, wallet and money was placed on the window. I screamed. This was the same house that was turned upside down while searching for the gadgets. I have never witnessed God move so swift before. I woke my roommates up to see the wonders of God. He didn’t fail me.
“We didn’t visit the native doctor and all stolen items were restored in less than 12 hours. This God shocked me that day. I hope he moves swiftly to attend to our needs again. Same God”
Another tweep, @omolarapanties narrated her own experience.
She wrote: “November 2015, The day I can never forget in my life 😢 I witnessed a live accident on Remo-Ilisan road. I was in a bus going to ojota that day and before I knew what was happening i saw a big petrol tanker crushed the sienna beside me. I watched the driver shouting for help 😭
“Till he gave up the ghost, i saw the way the people at back seat was already in cold blood and crying for help but I could not help them. cos i was shaking and got shocked at that time, the only thing i was hearing is the tanker will soon get explode.
“I don’t know the angel 👼 That helped me out from that bus till date, but I survived that accident and people were just asking me how come i was not involved in the accident. Since then my faith got stronger and I believe there’s nothing God cannot do.”
@The_GodFatherl narrated how God kept him alive in a ghastly car accident that claimed several lives.
He tweeted: “I had moved to Abuja form Jigawa where I had just finished NYSC, stayed with a cousin for few months then got a job. It was an offer more than I had expected, so since I hadn’t seen my parents since I left to the North, I decided to go see them & share the Goodnews with them before resuming work. Stayed two weeks & was to do a quick stop in Calabar before heading for Abuja the next morning.
“This was 2013, DOPT was a menace in Calabar at the time. My bus just arrived Etteagbor park & I walked out to board a cab home.
“The cab man shortly after takeoff stopped again to pick another passenger. The passenger had barely sat when he noticed the DOPT guys coming for him. He zoomed off and they chased him. He lost control immediately we got to the mosque on Mary slessor & all of us drove into the big ditch there, that’s all I could remember.
“Covered in blood, I passed out. I woke up the next morning to hear we were all pronounced dead, packed behind a police van as the DOPT guys took off. We were taken and dumped in the morgue.
Before this time, I spoke to my mom immediately we arrived the park so when the accident happened, someone called the last caller, asked her to come to Mary slessor & identify the body of the owner of the phone. Lol.
“Meanwhile pops was on the pulpit preaching, plus they were 6 hour drive away, this was past 5pm already o. Mom called her siblings who didn’t meet us there as at when they got to the scene and no one knew where the police took us to so they started going from one station to the other.
“Back at the morgue(as I heard), we were just dumped there and left. Meanwhile pops had ended the service, was briefed & calls started flying up and down. Prayer chain started all night.
“Mom went numb for hours, just staring into space. Dad I learnt didn’t say a single word after he was told when he finished ministering. No words till he got home, then…🥹🥹
“At about 2am, when the attendant finally decided to attend to the “corpses” the police had dropped hours ago all covered in blood, he was said to insist that one person(me) was still alive & despite various shout-downs insisted he won’t embalm me as I was still alive.
“Well, story cut short, that man saved my life that day as he insisted I should be taken to the hospital and examined. That singular insistence, answered prayers (because God showed up) gave me a second chance at life as when I was examined I still had pulse…”
