Former Editor of Leadership Newspaper, Ibrahim Sheme, has expressed shock over the death of Danladi Ndayebo, the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS).

“Allahu Akbar! Malam Danladi Ndayebo was my news editor when I was Editor of Leadership. His shocking death today is therefore a personal loss. A nice man to the core, our friendship lasted up till his final day.

“Danladi’s demise in a road accident is a huge loss not only to his family but also to all of us, his friends. May Allah in His infinite mercy grant his soul eternal rest, amen,” he said in a message posted on his Facebook wall.

Danladi died on Monday from injuries sustained after a car accident on Sunday night.

Ndayebo alongside his friend Mohammed Isa were involved in the car crash in Minna, Niger State.

Sources said the duo were on the trip to Minna to see their friend Justice Aminu Garba whose son is missing.

Mohammed is said to be recuperating in one hospital in Minna.

The late Ndayebo had between 2004 and 2008 held various editorial positions in Leadership Newspapers and was at various times, Director General (Media Relations), Chief Press Secretary to the Governor (Babangida Aliyu) and Commissioner for Information in Niger State.

The executive secretary was a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with a Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communications from the same institution.
