The Peoples Democratic Party flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, tweeted, “My thoughts and prayers are with Davido and Chioma and the Adeleke family at this time. I pray for God to strengthen and comfort them.”

In the same vein, the Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu, said that he has cancelled his official engagements on Tuesday to mourn the death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi.

He also expressed his condolences via his Facebook page on Tuesday.

Kalu said, “Dear David/Chioma, I am sober, I am deeply saddened by the loss of your son, Ifeanyi. I have cancelled my official engagements today to mourn him quietly.

“Ifeanyi will be missed by everyone. May the Creator accept our prayers on his behalf.”

The PDP deputy governorship candidate of Lagos State, Funke Akindele, also prayed for the deceased’s parents over the loss.

The actress wrote, “This is so sad!! Ha!! Rest In Peace little champ. May the almighty God comfort Chioma, Davido and their families.”

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State said: “Sanwo-olu said, “Death leaves a heartache no words can fill. And today I express my deepest condolences to Davido and Chioma over the death of their beloved son.

“Ifeanyi was undoubtedly loved by his parents and family. I pray that the good Lord grants them strength as you go through this difficult period.

The PDP governorship candidate, Adul-Azeez Adediran aka Jandor wrote, “Losing a child is every family’s worst nightmare. It is even more devastating when you’re in the public sphere.

“David Adeleke has been a source of joy, pride and comfort through his music, philanthropy and commitment to truth and justice. I pray for David and Chioma as they process this inestimable loss of their son Ifeanyi.

“I urge everyone to respect his privacy during this period and honour the memory of his loving child.”
