ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The Federal Government of Nigeria on Monday arrived at the Court of Appeal in Abuja to continue the battle against Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra( IPOB).
Recall that the IPOB leader was earlier set free by the court from the terrorism charge against him.
The appellate court, sitting in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, on 13 October, upheld the appeal of Kanu.
The court also discharged and acquitted the embattled leader of the proscribed group.
At the appellate court on Monday, the Federal Government of Nigeria is asking the court to stay the execution of the judgment of 13 October which voided the rendition of Mazi Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria on account of breach of local and international laws.
According to a notice of appeal marked CA/ABJ/CR/625/2025, sighted by newsmen, a three-panel of the court would determine the FG’s motion on notice.
Present in court is Kanu’s lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, (SAN), leading the legal team, alongside a senior lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor.
