ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Abia State, Dr Sampson Orji, has advised Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, to step down for incumbent Senator, Enyinnaya Abaribe, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), saying that the Governor cannot defeat the Senator.
Orji, a former commissioner for Trade and Commerce, stated this during a live radio programme, “Open Parliament,”.
He also advised Governor Ikpeazu, who is the PDP candidate for the Abia South Senate District, that Abaribe proved to be the most qualified for the red chamber, based on his antecedents.
Orji, who was a gubernatorial aspirant in the 25 May, 2022 primaries of the PDP and is currently in court with the PDP and Prof. Uche Ikonne, said that if allowed to choose between Governor Ikpeazu and Senator Abaribe, he would “vote for Abaribe against Ikpeazu” as “it is like asking one to choose between “experience and lack of experience.”
Orji said he would mobilize support For Peter Obi not because the Labour Party candidate is his fellow Igbo but because of his antecedents, Punch reports.
