ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- After eight months of industrial action, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, on Monday announced that it will resume academic activities on Monday, 24 October, 2022.
The school authority directs students to return to campus on Saturday, 22 October, 2022.
This is following the suspension of the eight-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), on Thursday, 14 October, 2022.
The strike which was suspended on 14 October, 2022, was embarked on 14 February, 2022.
The UNN, in a memo dated 14 October, 2022, and signed by its Ag. Registrar, Dr. A.N. Egbosionu, directed all students to return to campus on Saturday, 22 October.
It added that lectures would continue for the yet-to-be completed 2020/2021 academic session on Monday, 24 October, 2022.
The memo also stated that lectures will run for five days, from Monday, 22 October, to Friday, 29 October, and revision will follow from Monday, 31 October, to Friday, 4 November, 2022.
Second semester examinations are to commence from Monday, 7 November to Saturday, 26 November, 2022.
The University further noted in the memo that the 2021/2022 academic session will commence on Saturday, 3 December, 2022.
