IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Harrysong has made a U-turn on a statement where he accused music executive, Soso Soberekon of sending assassins to kill him. Harrysong in a video stated that ‘clarifications have been made’.

Some weeks ago, the singer claimed during a podcast, Frankly Speaking, hosted by media personalities, Nedu, Husband Material, Toun, and Naomi, that Soberekon sent hired killers to him.

In a swift reaction, the music executive, Soberekon, slammed the singer with a lawsuit.

In the notice posted on his Instagram page on Tuesday, Soberekon asked for a retraction of the statement, an apology and N500,000,000 for compensation.

The notice partly read: “Our client has consequently directed us to request for a retraction of the said publication and an apology to be published in two newspapers and several online news millets not later than seven days of the delivery of this letter and also the payment of the sum of N500,000,000.00 (Five Hundred Million Naira) as damages and compensation for the malicious publications made against our client.

“TAKE NOTICE that if you fail to heed the request of our client within seven days of the receipt of this letter, we shall be constrained to proceed to the court of law against you for exemplary damages for injurious falsehood and malicious publication made of and concerning our client.”

Days later, Harrysong was picked up by the Nigerian Police at the airport after he landed in Nigeria.
The terse statement signed by his management noted that the singer’s phone was seized at the point of arrest.

The post read: “I got arrested as I landed in Lagos. My phone has been seized and they won’t allow me to communicate with my people.”

However, it seems the feud between the two has been resolved as Harrysong took to his verified Instagram page to clear the air.

He said: “About the video that was trending last week about Soso’s threat on my life, yes, it is true. It was a group of boys that was misled and I now have clarity of what happened and it was not Soso that sent them.

“I and Soso are good now; so guys, thanks to everyone that reached out. Thanks to friends and the love. I want to give a shout out to everyone that has been with me on this amazing journey.”
