ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has jetted out of Nigeria to Spain alongside his three Southern counterparts.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Wike traveled with include Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Samuel Ortom of Benue and Seyi Makinde of Oyo States.

Early on Saturday morning before jetting out to Spain in a private jet, the four Governors posed for a photograph at the International Airport, Omagwa in Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.

A top party chieftain in the state who pleaded anonymity confirmed the trip on Saturday.

According to him: “Yes, it is true. They left for Spain early Saturday morning, but I can’t say the reason for the trip.”

Governor Wike and four of his colleagues including Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi – who was not part of the latest trip – are now known as the G5 calling for the resignation of the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

Wike had on Friday morning, held a live media chat at the Government House, Port Harcourt, where he made fresh revelations about Ayu.

He maintained that he will not go back on his call for Ayu to step down in order to pave the way for a Southerner to succeed him as the party’s chairman.
