IBADAN, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – The Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has ushered in a new bride, Ashley Adegoke. The wedding ceremony comes weeks after the monarch tied the knot with Mariam Anako in a low-key ceremony.
It was gathered that the paramount ruler of Ile-Ife, got married to Adegoke on Friday.
The traditional wedding ceremony was held at the bride’s family house at Olubose Street, along Ede Road, IIe-Ife.
The new bride is reportedly the fourth wife of the Ooni as he married three within two months.
In September, 2022, the monarch welcomed Queen Mariam into his palace as his first wife.
Then, Queen Elizabeth Ogunwusi was betrothed to him in Magodo, Lagos, a few days after his first marriage.
While Queen Tobi Phillips was the third woman to be married to the monarch on 9 October, 2022.
Queen Ashley, the fourth wife is a chartered accountant and currently runs an NGO that caters to less privileged kids and widows through the Ashley Adegoke Foundation.
She has a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Greenwich, and currently runs her businesses in the United Kingdom.
Ashley Adegoke, is a princess from the Lafogido royal house.
This is, however, Ooni’s seventh marriage.
Before his coronation in 2016, Oba Adeyeye was previously married to Adebukola Bombata in 2008.
They were together for eight years but the marriage failed after his coronation.
After being crowned, Ooni married Edo-born Zainab-Otiti Obanor in 2016, the union lasted for 17 months before their separation. He then married Naomi Silekunola in 2018.
Queen Naomi had on 23 December, 2021 announced her separation from the monarch in an Instagram post and ended the three-year union that produced a son, Tadenikawo.
Though some Yoruba monarchs tried to intervene but the reconciliation efforts were unproductive.
Ooni’s new marriage came ten months after Queen Naomi Silekunola took to social media to announce her separation.
