A Nigerian Twitter user, Cynthia Akuchie, @kaka_champ has called out a friend, Victor Bolaji Aboke, over his refusal to pay back the money he owe her.

According to Akuchie who is based abroad, she lent Aboke over a million naira in April 2022 with the hope that he’ll pay it back two months later.

The tweep said everything was fine until June when she asked Victor for her money, it was from one excuse to another.

In her words: “This is Victor Bolaji Aboke who I took as a FRIEND. I sent him over a million naira in April 2022 which we agreed will be paid by June 2022. Everything was fine until June when I asked Victor for my money, it was from one excuse to another, one lie to another💔

“When things started getting sour, Victor asked a friend by name Paul Adegbite to reach out to me to give so I could give him more time to pay my money which I did. On 1st of September, out of all my money, Victor only sent 100,000 naira and disappeared.

“His WhatsApp number +2348129638834 that I usually send him messages stopped being active till date and he hasn’t reached out to me. This is definitely the height of wickedness.

“Lastly, I sent screenshots and proofs of everything to @rhemabodija which is Victors church and the church his father is a pastor. I sent EVERY SINGLE THING from A-Z as facts. All these was sent as a 67 page PDF file!!!

“Since I’m in Canada, I started looking for other means to get back my money and while doing my research, I found out his father by name Tunde Segun Aboke is a pastor at @rhemabodija and thought reaching out to the church will make his dad aware, reach out to me and get my money.

“Unfortunately nothing has been done about after 3 weeks since I reached out to @rhemabodija. No member of his family has said anything even when they are now aware of what Victor did. It’s been 4 months now and I want my money paid!!!“

Reacting to @kaka_champ’s tweet, @ololademrmoney1 advised the tweep not to lend friends money but give them what she can.

“No dey borrow friends money, instead dash them the little you have.”

Commenting on @ololademrmoney1’s tweet, @psalmuel said friends won’t return money borrowed then went on to share his own experience.

“Them no go return am! I have been through this hell and I’m back …

“Person wey day owe me 100k buy car of 4m and still didn’t pay me until i took it up and involved his parents … People are wicked sha !”

@IamAyodejii agreed with @Psamuel_ and @ololademrmoney1 and tweeted: “That’s y I don’t borrow people money I can’t dash them. I can easily letgo once I see you not even trying to refund it.”

Another tweep, Adebimpe Omotunde who disagree with the assertion that friends don’t pay back money owed said: “Sorry you met really bad ones. There are still people with integrity. Above all, make sure you vet them properly.”
