ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Former Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, has denied the claim that Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate was the first to reveal that crude oil is being stolen in Niger Delta.

While speaking during a live video, circulating on the internet, the renowned political activist of the Ijaw ethnic group in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, noted that he has been spreading the information about oil theft long ago.

According to him, crude oil is been taken from wellheads by some top personality in the country, but nobody pays attention.

Recall that the recent operations launched by the Federal Government to end oil theft in the crude oil production areas of the country, has being accredited to the former Governor of Anambra State, Obi, by some people, saying that he was the first to raise the alarm.

Also, Obi during a recent interview had revealed that crude oil is being stolen by influential people in the country.

It was also reported the operatives of the Navy in the Niger Delta and the former Ex-militant, Tompolo with his security outfit, Tantita Security Service Limited (TSSL) has successfully discovered 58 illegal tapping points.
