The post has since generated a lot of criticisms by Twitter users and ‘Obidients’, who challenged him with the stride developments and achievements of Obi while he was the Governor of Anambra State.
According to Success Eloka @ElokaSuccess: “Peter Obi sent Anambra from 26th to 1st in Education. Open this thread & see some of the investments he made in Education. Name of the schools.can you show us how tinubu or any of ur candidate transform the education system of his state when he held public office.“
Another user, @osazenoo hit back at @ElokaSuccess saying: “The schools you posted are schools belonging to catholic & Anglican churches which he spent 6bn naira to improve. If you think that is commendable then ask him what about the Muslim community in the state. What did he do for Muslims in anambra in terms of education 🙄🙄
In response to @osazenoo, @stephen_tomoni wrote: “You don’t know what you’re saying.. He came in, and handled the schools over to churched to handle and funded them.. You just know the schools are handled by churches, but you don’t know how it was given to them..
@ElokaSuccess responded immediately, writing: “Before Obi the school were handled by government and it was total mess up, nd he have to put the facilties in order and handed it over to church for good maintenance and still 2day government is paying the teachers salary in this schools and giving missionary money to maintain it.“
In another reply to @osazenoo, @Edusha argued: “Your principal is a Muslim and I believe we have lots of Muslim schools in Lagos when he was governor, please point us to the ones he uplifted, show us how he transformed education in Lagos and what was the position of Lagos when he left office.
Also, @chinedu_eg while responding to @osazenoo wrote: “Oga the School is open for everybody. They use to be public school though till he handed them over to the church to manage. I attended St Charles College Onitsha, I remembered that in my class we had 2 Muslims, Umar Idris & Yusuf. When it time for you to go out for prayer, you would be allowed.
“Penthcostal member had a Pastors who teaches in the school & celebrate service for them in the School hall Sunday while Catholic celebrate their Mass in the School Chapel. Anglicans are allowed to attend their service at Emmanuel Church Ugwunagbagba.”
