American actress Angelina Jolie has revealed new details about the abuse that her ex-husband Brad Pitt inflicted on her and their children.
In a suit filed on Tuesday by Jolie’s lawyers in the couple’s legal battle over their French winery, Jolie alleged that Pitt choked one of their children and hit another during a 2016 flight on a private jet five days before Jolie filed for divorce.
According to the Star, in the latest filing, Jolie’s lawyers alleged that Pitt grabbed the actress by the head and shook her and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall during a fight.
“Pitt insulted Jolie, when one of the kids defended Jolie, the actor lunged at his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him, Pitt then threw himself back into the airplane’s seats injuring Jolie’s back and elbow.”
“The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face. Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened. Many were crying,” the suit continued.
At one point during the flight from France to California, the Oscar-winning actor supposedly dumped alcohol on her and the kids.
Pitt sources have long denied he was physically abusive toward Jolie or their six children — and insiders close to him maintain the same to Yahoo Entertainment.
Jolie’s cross complaint against Pitt is part of the former couple’s battle over their French winery, Château Miraval.
Pitt claimed in court that Jolie was not entitled to sell her half of the company to liquor giant Stoli without offering him first of right refusal.
In Tuesday’s filing, lawyers for Jolie claim her company did reach out to Pitt, but she wouldn’t agree to his hush-clause and that the actor demanded “a nondisclosure agreement that would have contractually prohibited her from speaking outside of court about Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse of her and their children.”
According to a report in USA Today, the allegations of abuse became public shortly after the flight, but details, till now, were vague and kept sealed in divorce documents.
Sources close to Pitt vehemently denies the allegations made by Jolie in the filing. The insider claims Jolie “continues to rehash, revise and reimagine” the incident six years ago “by adding completely untrue information each time she fails to get what she wants.” The source claims Jolie’s story is “constantly evolving.”
No one is disputing something went down on the private plane in 2016 — but each star’s account appears to be wildly different.
Although Pitt has not directly commented about the alleged incident, he got sober shortly after Jolie filed for divorce.
The FBI and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services launched an investigation as to what happened in the air and Pitt, who cooperated with the investigation, was ultimately cleared of child abuse allegations.
The actor was granted joint custody after a judge reviewed documents by doctors, therapists and other experts.
Investigations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services found no action against Pitt necessary. Pitt has never been charged in relation to the alleged plane incident.
