Again, Suspected Herdsmen Invade Benue Communities, Kill 10 People

ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Suspected killer-herdsmen have, during the late hours of Wednesday, reportedly invaded two communities in Benue State, killing about 10 people.

The communities include Mchia village in Mbagber council ward, and Mou village in Ukemberagya/Tswarev council ward, all in Logo local government areas of the State.

The herdsmen had also last month attacked several villages in Guma LGA and killed about 20 people.

“There were separate attacks on Mchia and Mou villages but carried out simultaneously leading to the death of 15 people.

Voiceofnaija.ng gathered that the attackers stormed the villages between 11pm and midnight of Wednesday.

During the attack, not less than twelve people were killed at Mchia community while about 16 people injured at Mou village.

A local, who did not want to be mentioned, told Punch on the phone.

Confirming the attack, the Commissioner of Police, Wale Abass, said that 10 people were killed and eight injured.
