ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- The gubernatorial Candidate of African Action Congress (AAC) in 2023, Ray Kene Ogbodo, is set to unveil his running mate by next week.

The Enugu State AAC and its governorship Candidate are happy to have picked a worthy Son of the state from Greater Nsukka Zone as the Deputy Governorship Candidate for the 11 March 2023 Enugu Gubernatorial Election.

This was contained in a statement released by Ogbodo’s media aide, Mr. Azubuike Akam, on Friday.

The party had after its primary election in Enugu, which produced Ray Kene Ogbodo, from Enugu East Senatorial Zone as its candidate, promised to pick a Deputy Governorship Candidate from Enugu North Senatorial Zone.

According to the statement, “We can today confirm that such promise is now a reality. Enugu AAC did not only choose a Deputy from Nsukka Zone, but chose a reputable, reliable, credible and undented personality.

“A full AAC party man, a successful businessman, kindhearted and a goal oriented fellow. With him paired together with Ray Ogbodo, that will be a resounding victory for AAC in Enugu State come 11th March 2023,” the statement added.

Ray Kene Ogbodo had in 8th June 2022, emerged the Governorship standard bearer of African Action Congress (AAC) for Enugu State for 2023 general election after the governorship primary election held in Enugu.

Ogbodo’s emergence followed the successful governorship primary election organised by the party’s Electoral Committee led by Mr. Lawrence Eziachi.

In his acceptance speech, Ogbodo thanked the state electoral committee and party delegates for conducting a peaceful and credible election.

He noted that his major concern was the development of Enugu State and to reposition the state on the part of growth.

He vowed to give free education at primary and secondary school levels, while facilitating provision of grants to university students.

He also promised to improve security and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

On health, Mr. Ogbodo, promised to offer free medicare services to citizens and to ensure that people had a decent life, as well as provide opportunity for youths to discover their talents and be meaningful for themselves.

Ogbodo reiterated his five point agenda tagged HOPES which, he said, his government would effectively use to lift many Enugu people out of abject poverty, ensure quality health, create jobs, educate and secure the people.

“I want to rescue Enugu from “suppressors, oppressors, out of touch, recycled and everyday good for nothing politicians, so I can deliver a decent and better life for my people,” he said.
