ENUGU, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Emmanuel Bikogha, a prominent chief of Ughievwen Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State has been shot dead by gunmen.

It was learnt that the gunmen attacked the Echihigan of Ughievwen Kingdom at the popular PTI junction in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, at about 7:10pm on Sunday night.

One of his palace colleagues, Chief Freeborn Ayoma, confirmed the gory incident to journalists on Monday.

Details of what might have led to the killing of Bikogha by the yet-to-be-identified gunmen is still sketchy.

However, community sources described the deceased, who hailed from Owawha town in Ughievwen Kingdom, as a happily married, humble and honest gentleman who would, indeed, be missed by the Ughievwen people for his humility and peaceful conduct.

As if the time filing this report, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be reached for comments on the incident.
