LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA)- Two children have been confirmed dead following a building collapse incident which occurred in Lagos on Sunday night.
Voiceofnaija.ng gathered that three adult males were also involved in the incident, but were rescued with injuries, and have since been taken to nearby hospitals.
The incident reportedly happened at Onipanu enroute Adeleye Street, Lady Lark Bariga, Yaba, Lagos and the distress call was received by responders at about 9:46pm on Sunday, 21 August.
A press statement e-signed by Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), reads: “The Agency activated its response to the above incident and upon arrival at the incident scene, discovered that the tank scaffolding of a 2 Storey building collapsed on a bungalow beside it and affected two rooms.
“Unfortunately 2 children died from the impact. 3 adult males sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.
“The Agency’s response team alongside Lagos State Fire and LASBCA responders are on standby at the incident scene.”
