LAGOS, Nigeria (VOICE OF NAIJA) – Team Nigeria set a new African record with a Women’s 4×100 relay gold win at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
Smarting from her impeccable Games Record win in the Women’s 100m Hurdles, Tobi Amusan joined the Nigerian team to set a new African Record at the Games.
Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma and Grace Nwokocha complete the quartet of Nigerian women who made the country proud at the competition where Nigeria is expecting to win more gold medals.
The Nigerian female athletes clocked 42:10secs to smash the African Record at the Commonwealth Games and rewrite the history books for Nigeria.
Recall that earlier in the day, Amusan ran a Games Record of 12:30secs on her way to winning a gold medal.
By this feat, the Nigerian has now won the Women’s 100m Hurdles for two consecutive games, and seems not to be stopping.
